Why is it called Walnut Grove?

Walnut Grove is the name of the town where the Ingalls family resided in the television and autobiographical book series “Little House on the Prairie” by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The community developers wanted to remind future residents of a simpler, peaceful way of life that the Ingalls family embodied in the television programs airing in the 1970-1980’s.
